Sister Yvonne Anderson is the mother of First Lady Harper and the Mother-in-Law of our Pastor, Rev. Harper. She has been a member of Christian Missionary since 1988.
Sister Anderson’s personal ministry of “Helps,” led her to the Nurses Ministry. She became the secretary and served faithfully as a nurse until October 2012.
She doesn’t sit idle, she loves her Pastor and Church and whatever is needed she will do. She is a member of Sunday School class #4A and the Saturday Class that is being taught by one of our Associate Minister’s Rev. Mary Swanson.
Sister Anderson was married to the late Eddie Anderson Jr. affectionately called “Skinner.”
She loves her family and aside from her daughter and son-in-law she is the proud grandmother of Sis. Tammy Vance and Rev. Marcus Harper (Tawana).
She had five siblings but three are deceased. Her sister Vernette McGregor and brother Kenneth Wortham are the surviving siblings. She has 24 nieces and nephews.
She retired from Rush Medical Center (formally called Rush Presbyterian St. Luke’s Hospital) after 35 years of service.
Sister Anderson currently resides at a senior complex where she has made many friends. She enjoys Bingo and the outings they go on. Wherever she goes she continues her ministry of “Helps.”
