This is an introduction to Trustee William Alfred Swanson, Sr., a faithful and dedicated member of CMBC. He serves as an officer on the Trustee Board, is a member of the Senior Usher's Ministry and also teaches the Men's Sunday School Class.
Bro. Swanson was previously a member of the Allen Metropolitan C.M.E. Church where he served as the President of the Board of Trustees before becoming a servant of God here at CMBC, under the leadership of Pastor Robert E. Harper.
Born in Montgomery Alabama, he has lived in Chicago for more than 40 years. He married his lovely wife, Genora (Youngblood) Swanson in 1975 and they have 4 wonderful children, David, Trevor, Michael and William Jr. He has an older and a younger brother, and an older sister. One of his sisters passed away many years ago.
Trustee Swanson attended Alabama A&M University and later served in the U.S. Coast Guard prior to moving to Chicago.
Before his retirement in 1995, he had a long term employment career with the U.S. Postal Services, where he held the position of Postal Manager. To better provide for his family, he would would fill his spare time working on small side jobs.
No matter how busy he was then and is now, he continues to serve the "one and only God" who was, is, and that will ever be!
Trustee Swanson is a man of integrity, who is truly working for God! He loves the Lord and the family that God blessed him with.
God blesses all of his children, and this man is truly blessed!
