For the month of January 2016, we proudly honor Sister Varletta Lewis. She's is a dedicated longtime member of CMBC and the beautiful wife of Brother Aaron Lewis. On December 10th they proudly celebrated their 53rd year wedding anniversary. She is the mother of 7 children: Demestric, Vonell, Yolanda (Fuzzy), Aaron Jr., Deandre, April and Rhonda. Also, she's the proud grandmother of 13 and the great-grandmother of 7 with another soon to be born.
Sister Lewis began her membership under the leadership of the Late Pastor John Taylor, and continues to serve faithfully under Pastor Robert E. Harper. Blessed with a kind and giving spirit, she always manages to find the time to be extremely giving and helpful to any and everyone she meets. She is a spiritual person who has raised all of her children in CMBC.
Sister Lewis worked as a Chicago Crossing Guard for the past 30 years and managed her own licensed day care business during those years. She is a great cook, and even her older children are inspired to come by often to enjoy her delicious meals. While her food eases the physical body, her loving spirit melts the hearts of everyone she encounters.
