CMBC would like to honor Mother Linnie Whitaker for the month of September 2011. Mother Whitaker and her family have been members of CMBC since 1970 and joined shortly after the church moved into the Roseland Community.
Mother Linnie Whitaker, was a member of Hopeful Baptist Church in Chicago, Illinois prior to joining CMBC. Mother Whitaker continues as an active member of the Mothers and Mission Board as well as the Senior Club.
Mother Whitaker was born, raised and educated in Lexington, Mississippi. She confessed Christ at an early age in Mississippi and has continued that walk with Christ ever since. She has always been known for her sweet, kind and gentle spirit. Linnie’s Faith and Trust in God has always been her source of refuge.
Mother Whitaker was married to the late Eugene Whitaker; both of them have always been the proud parents of their ten (10) children (two deceased), fifteen (15) grandchildren and nine (9) great grandchildren. Linnie believes strongly that a family that prays together and works together, stays together. Given this, she has always emphasized to her children and grandchildren the need to always put God first!!
Mother Whitaker loves God, her family, her extended church family and recognizes that “WITH GOD, ALL THINGS ARE POSSIBLE!!”
